22RE 2nd cylinder not firing

Have you cracked the fuel lines to see if you're getting fuel to the throttle body?

So far I checked the fuel pump itself and if I jump the pins in the diagnostic port and put the ignition to "on" the pump works fine. Still need to work my way forward (and get the battery charged up before I can do much else).

Good news is that I looked inside the tank for the first time and it's clean and rust free, so that's positive.

Got it running again (fuel pump croaked in the middle of all this) and got the head pulled and confirmed it was a bad exhaust valve. With all the valves closed I sprayed a touch of carb cleaner in the exhaust ports and it came pouring out of that valve.

Also got deep enough to find out that the previous owner already did the timing chain with metal guides so I had that going for me (and saved a bunch of work)

I ended up going with a new head rather than having mine rebuilt. I am doing this in the driveway and my neighbor got nailed by code enforcement for having a non running vehicle and doing major work in the driveway (he has an old Bronco) so time was a concern. I've got the new head on so I just need to put everything back together.

Out of curiousity, these are the markings that were on the head that I could see once I got it off. Any idea on their meaning? I am curious if this was the original head or not. The letters are "JE" and the numbers are 1202AA10295
