22re needed

Hey guys I recently bought a 94 pick up.. i got a steal for $300.00. It sounds like its got a lil knock to it. Does anyone know where I can get a deal on a cheap used/rebuilt 22re?

here is a pic of the truck. Its a 5spd and ac blows cold... I drove it 30 miles home, and it wasnt bad, its got an exhaust leak that im gonna tackle first then. Possibly change the motor/ or have someone rebuild it... So just trying to do some legwork and find a new motor.

i was honestly surprised at the prices from Home - 22RE Performance - Rebuilt Engines
they "guarantee" better performance and reliabilty with stage 1, I know if I had a few grand lying around I wouldnt mind getting a stage 3
just an idea, albeit pricey, I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for.

thanks for the reply those do look nice. I agree in you get what you pay for, but this is a beater, and im trying to keep the price down. any other suggestions?

Check craigslist and other local classifieds, a quick search on craiglist in baton rouge shows a number of t4r's and pickups in the $1000-2000 range. Look for ads with 4cyl or 22re in it i saw a few but im not local so take a peek a make some calls

still looking.. i did a compression test and the number 2 cyl only has 30lbs on it.. so on with the hunt for a new motor... or possibly get someone to rebuild thisone..
