255/75/17 No Lift?

Just recently I discovered that you can run this tire size on our 4runners. However, after searching around I couldn't find a definitive answer if these can be run without a lift/trimming. The prices are cheaper and i can get a more aggressive tire, was just wondering if anyone had used this size. Tire sizes confuse me:withstupid:

Should be no problem. 265/70/17 fits and are the same height but wider.

Yeah they will fit, they are about .5" taller than a 265/70/17.

Thanks guys, I'm about to get a 1" toytec front spacer so hopefully this will fix any rubbing if at all.

I had the lift installed right before the tires, so no help there. As long as you don't have wheel spacers, they should clear. If anything at all, you'll need to move the fender liner forward (very easy, takes maybe 10 minutes for both sides). That should take care of any rubbing you may encounter. With the FJ springs and 1/2" spacer, no modifications at all required.

P.S.: I love that size!!! It's slightly taller than the 265/70, not "too" skinny, and also less of an impact on gas mileage than 265/70's.

Like Ark said, I love that size too! If you plan on runnin spacers in the future, you will need at least a 2" spacer IMO and plan on doing a lot of trimming. Otherwise your good, and should fill out those wheel wells nicely.

Pretty sure he means with wheel spaces. I think that depends in the tire. I ran spaces for a week or two and had no issues with just 1.5" lift in the front. I moved the fender liner forward and took off the front mudflaps, no rubbing after that.

Yea I meant w/ spacers....it wouldn't affect a/t tires as much as it would with MT due to the large square lugs. But if you don't plan on running spacers your rubbing should be minimal, if at all.

The mt's might be a little overkill, maybe an at would be a better option then
