265/65/17 (OEM size) vs 255/70/17 vs 265/70/17

Hey guys, I'm going to be getting a set of AT tires soonish (AT20's are at the wear bars) and have narrowed it down to the Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S, just seems like a really good value price-wise and capability-wise for my needs. I was pretty set on sticking with OEM size, but reading all the threads here I'm now seriously considering a couple slightly taller sizes.

Between the two larger-size options listed, will either be more likely to rub on a completely stock suspension truck (04 V8 Sport 4WD model)? Any reason to go with one over the other? Don't really want to install wheel spacers yet or anything like that which is why I don't want to go wider than stock; I'm ok with some minor plastic trimming but don't want to deal with too much hassle. I'll most likely replace all 5 onto the stock wheels (including the sapre). Thanks.

So go with 265/70/17

Is there a 90%+ chance that the 265/70 in this tire won't rub on stock suspension? I've seen posts of people w/ slightly more aggressive tires like the KO have rubbing at stock height in the 265/70/17.

I used to have BFG AT KO's (265/70/17). The only time my fronts will rub if i would do a u-turn. And it'll just rub a tad bit on my upper control arms (UCAs). So no biggy.

Awesome, good to hear. I fit some pretty crazy-aggressive tires on my track car so I'm no stranger to light rubbing on the inside. Going with the 265/70/17 now! Thanks again.

255/70R17 is not the same as 265/65R17. Its skinnier, and taller. I plan on going with this size in Yoko A/T's in next few weeks. Tire rack has them for $ 112.00 each !!!

Well, one of my rear AT20's was nearly flat this weekend, pumped it up to 40 on Sunday and it's already down to 30 3 days later... so I may be replacing these sooner rather than later if it's not a super easy (free) fix.

Heavily leaning towards the 255/70/17 now as well, just want to see more experience from others running this size on a 4th gen first.

I just installed some Wrangler Silent Armors- 255/75R17's today. I've got the daystar 2.5/1.5 and spidertrax spacers. Right now the only rubbing I'm getting is when I'm backing up and have the wheel cranked. I have a feeling that I'm gonna have to do a little more trimming to allow for some flex, but it shouldn't be much.
