265/65R17 vs 255/75R17 vs 265/70R17

Thse look great! I don't really know a whole lot about tires.. but the tire is smaller than oem, but it is 32'? How big are stocks, I have an 04 sr5 so I think my rims are 16. Will these tires fit my truck? And lastly, how much of increase in any did you get in gas economy?

A true 32" vs. 31.4 or 31.6". Much narrower (Approx. 10"). Should do better in snow and save a little fuel economy. There also much cheaper than 265/70-17 in the same tire. (Approx. $25-40 per tire).

I do get a little rubbing, but only when in reverse and at full rake left or right.....

They ride great, I just wish I knew what air pressure to run the tires on. right now I have them at 40psi. I think maybe 35 would be fine.

Waiting on my first tank of gas to empty out so I can figure out what my MPG is with these tires. I drove around all day today with my GPS/Computer running. I locked the cruise control on 70mph and the speed on the GPS bounced between 73 and 76 mph the whole time. So I am safe running the speed limit (70) on the Interstate.

One more note, I dropped the air pressure from 45 to 35 on all 4 tires and the ride seems to have smoothed out and it does not feel so top heavy now.
 
A note about your "special" BFG M/T. Your BFG M/T tire was likely from a 2007-2008 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. The cool thing about this particular size is that it is SPECIALLY-designed by BFG for Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. When the Wrangler Rubicon came out in '07 (as a new design), Jeep wanted a M/T tire that is also good all-season (aka in snow & ice). Therefore, Jeep ask BFG to redesign the BFG tread to be a better all-arounder (better on-road, slightly quieter, and better in bad weather). Thus, these Jeep M/Ts have more biting surfaces and slightly closer lug spacing. If you go to a tire store and look up other sizes of BFG M/T, then you will see a few differences:

1. Other sizes have less biting notches on the center lugs
2. Other sizes have lugs more spaced out, both the center and edge lugs

There is no way to get this particular "Jeep design" in any other sizes than 255/75/17. You have to get this size to get this particular tread design. Otherwise, you have the same toughness as in other BFG M/Ts, including 3-ply sidewall and thick tread.

So, what you have is probably the best BFG MT that you can get as an all-arounder mud-terrain. It is quieter and better on-road (bad or good weather) than other BFG MT. It may not be as good off-road as the new BFG M/T KM2, but it should be better on-road and quieter.

Good buy...and as long as it fits, drive it in good health...you got a great tire there! (Yes, i am a bit envious!) :) So, to answer Falls, you went with this size because it's a special tire! :D

P.S.: And i would not put more than 35 psi in your tires...in fact, i would try what Toyota recommends for stock tires.

Thanks Thai, I cannot wait to get them in the mud... I did drop the pressure, and it seemed to ride better on the road, and the thing that gets me is they are not really that loud on the road...
 
I was not knocking the tire at all . At least not my intention , just wondered why you did that size .

As far as size goes the Revo measures 31.7 with a 3/32 tread depth . I doubt anyone will notice a 3/10th of an inch for the "P" rated , 31.6 for the "E" rated 4/10th of an inch .

BFG AT/KO measure 31.8

The whole package looks totally tough on your truck ! The CF 2/1 lift makes it look perfect.

I had to slam on the brakes this morning on the way to work, I thought I was not going to be able to stop, the tires started to bark and moan, but they gripped and stopped. I could not believe it. There was a driver in front of me sitting at a green light, the light had been green for at least 10 seconds as I was approaching the light, and the driver just sat there, I think the person was texting on a phone or fell asleep, not sure, but I managed to stop, man was I scared. It was hard to bring the 4runner to a stop going from 45mph to zero in a hurry.

Other than that so far so good, they are great off road too, got into some mud over the weekend and never once did the wheels spin or slip...
