265 Spare with 285 tires?

currently, I run 285 tires.

If one of them blows out, is it safe to run the truck with one 265 tire for a short time? I understand that in 2wd mode a 265 tire up front would be fine, but what about the rear?

Its not the end of the world, would be fine to get you back to where you needed to be, nothing more obviously (which you already know). May be worth searching around for a cheap 285 though as they do fit underneath in the spare area just fine.

I picked up a used 285 at my local Discount Tire for $50. It was in great shape, and it fits underneath. It does hang down a bit more than the stock, but could come in handy on the trail.

i would do this. doesnt matter all that much unless you have a limited

I am doing the same, 285 with 265 spare, but the used 285 spare is not a bad idea.

a 255 will be similar diameter to the 285 but a little better under the vehicle
