275/65R18 BFG TA KO on 2004 4WD V8 Sport Edition???

Has anybody tried these on the 18" enkei wheels? I've been impressed with the generally positive reviews for this tire and the 275/65 is considerably less expensive than the 265/65, but I'm concerned they will rub too much and destroy my gas mileage. If anybody can share some experience it would be greatly appreciated.

The 275/65s will rub unless you have lift. I went with the 265/65s but wish I'd gone with the 275s, wanna trade :naughty:

That sucks. I feel like they are just teasing me with lower price for a bigger tire. How bad would the rub be? Are we talking a bit when steering is locked or what? How did your mpg vary when you went to the 265/65R18?

I've been told that the 265s have a special more heavy duty rubber compound that causes the increased price.

If you don't have any lift, you probably wouldn't turn much at all. With no lift, 265/65s (especially BFG ATs, due to the squared shoulder) sometimes rub a little at full lock when the suspension is flexing, the 275s should be much worse being taller and wider.

I honestly couldn't tell you how much the MPG changed, I had 275/70R17s before these and I didn't notice a a big difference. The 275s were lighter (C rated) and less aggressive (Goodyear Silent Armor) though.

One of my friends was told the 265 was more heavy duty, that's all I know. Wish mine were newer then you could buy them and I could get the 275s lol. I believe the 285s are actually still cheaper than the 265s too.
