280k and started throwing convertor codes...

13 years old, 280k, probably going to pass her on this summer. I really don't want to spend the $ to replace convertors now, are there any other options?

I remember a post some time back about putting spark plug anti foulers on the O2 sensors. Does it work?

Any thoughts appreciated.

This is one of the best threads about this...
Did the anti foulers my self on both sides in about 10 minutes in the driveway.
Best $12 I've spent.
Codes went away after the first reset and never came back.

What should my next steps be? P0430 and P0420

Been going for amost 2000 miles and have never came back.
It's worth a shot. I know it doesn't work for everyone...but it did work for me.

Thanks J-Roc! Just home from a weekend trip Chicago to KY. Pulled the 4R in the garage to change the oil and I heard an exhaust leak.

After changing the oil I crawled around and found a hole in the in the rs second convertor pipe...

Going to a small local shop tomorrow to see what we can do.
