285 Tire Size Comparison Chart

I've been researching the 285 tire size options for so long I figured I'd put together a comparison chart that is easy to reference and has the important information I look for.

I would LOVE feedback from you guys on this. What information do you feel is missing but is important? What tires did I miss that you would recommend?

Agreed. Cooper STT Pros 285/70/17s are 33.03" while the same size in BFG KO2s are 32.87"

Thanks for your input! How could I forget the Nitto’s? I’ve thought about adding actual tire size since they all range from 32.7-33.1 but that wasn’t important to me.. perhaps it may be a good idea though depending on what it is you’re looking for!

Uhm, General Grabber AT2s should be up here as well. Saved $200 compared to the KO2s... same tread pattern.

I’d add 255/80/17 options as well since they are also 33” there’s not a whole lot of options in that size though, Nitto Ridge Grappler, Cooper ST Maxx, and BFG KM2.

I myself am a huge fan of the 255/80 size. I may end up add that, 255/75 and 285/75 sizes eventually.

I’d add 255/80/17 options as well since they are also 33” there’s not a whole lot of options in that size though, Nitto Ridge Grappler, Cooper ST Maxx, and BFG KM2.

Is the info on KO2 vs Ridge Grapplers correct? I have 285 RGs and they are noticeably bigger than a comparable KO2 (Both tires were brand new)

Double checked Nitto’s site and it does show 32.76”

Perhaps add the stock tire information for TRD Pro’s as well.

I think this would be about like asking OTD pricing - you need to include wheel width, tire pressure, weight of the truck, how was it measured, etc - (eye balling with a tape measure on the ground to the top of the tire would give me 5 different results if I asked 5 people....)

Very true. Not sure what exactly causes it but I believe these are all factors.
