285's on a 2" lift

Hey guys, so I'm looking to lift my stock 3rd gen and I've done the TRD coils before on another rig but this time I want to see if I could squeeze some 285 on there... I would run 285/70/17, does anyone know if it's possible or if I have to go to the 3" lift

I'm pretty sure I want to keep the TRD coils because this is my dd and the last truck I had it on was a perfect ride because of my commute. Any feed back is welcome

It completely depends on your wheel selection. More specifically, the width and offset/backspace.
I'm at about 2" lift with 315/70R17.
I would post a pic, but [MENTION=56396]Hepar[/MENTION] would probably yell at me again.

I'm running 285/70/17 on FN Five Stars with a 2" lift and rubbing is minimal...only really notice it during turns while backing up. I have yet to really exercise the suspension travel but I suspect there will be contact.

The answer is - it depends.

If it is primarily a street rig you could be fine with minor trimming and getting the pinch seam out of the way. A lot depends on your wheel selection like Tyler says. Less backspace = more rubbage.

If you wheel hard you will rub. I did. Switched from 5 stars with 1.25 spacers (3.5"ish bs) to Level 8 with 4.1" bs and still rubbed when pushing it. But I wheel it pretty good. So I threw in a 1" body lift and all is good.

I'll call out anyone who is constant in posting oversized pics. It's annoying as f*ck. I know I'm not alone in that thinking.
