Nope. No issues with 285 Falken M/Ts. You'll be fine.

trd pro wheels with 285s. aired down to 15-20 psi all the time and still going strong!

I’ve been back and forth about what size to move to while keeping my TRDP wheels.

Given that I live in FL and there is no rock crawling around here and the vast majority of off-roading involves slick/sloppy wet (flat) ground, 285’s seem to be a very viable option.

My only concern was having some form of tire failure due to putting 285’s on a 7” TRDP wheel, but it seems pretty evident that concern really isn’t an issue.

I have 285/70/17s on TRDtrail rims with 1" Bora spacers and they work well. Very minor trimming due to the spacers, but overall a great look and off road functionality.
