2in1 LED DRL Fogs

Just saw these appear on the build and price section on Toyota's website.
Has anyone bought a 4runner with these or thought about adding them?

They look pretty cool and would be a cool addition to the TRDP.

I called the local dealer and the parts manager said they were not available and he had never heard of them?

Can't say that I have seen them installed. But I found the install pdf a few weeks ago on TIS.

These look awesome! Anyone have them installed? I currently have yellow film covering my fog lights with 3k HID bulbs. I love them but LEDs & DRLs sound very enticing.

I don't think so, at least I saw no reference to it.
I think you are just changing out the OEM fogs and adding a LED DRL with the included switch.... plus the LED Fog.
Maybe I am wrong, if someone got something else out of it, let us know.

From the installation video, I didn't see ANYTHING that would disable the DRL. Yet, at the end of the video, when he is "testing" the light, I don't see highbeam DRL coming on at anytime....

I really like this retrofit.... I actually like it better than the TRS whole fog replacement.... similar price.... this Toyota OEM version can be have for around $300.... and it comes with all the wiring harness, and even the OEM switch.... I think once some of our favorite online dealer stocking the part, I will get one.

I didn't hear the motor running, and if he didn't have the ignition to the on position, the factory DRL will not operate.....so I don't think they were disabled either. He didn't show anything to disable the OEM DRL's in my opinion.
But, If the factory DRL's are still operative, there is the easy fix for that!!!!

They look good, the question is will the output be sufficient!

Interesting to find out how they will perform!

I am pleased with my TRS Morimoto Fogs, but these are definitely interesting.

Call me a dumbass, but I thought 2010-2013 has separate fog lights and DRLs already. The fog lights are the round ones, and the DRLs are the yellow rectangular ones.

I installed some LED fog lights, sorry can't remember brand, but somebody elses comment is right, they are squirrel finders, light up everything from the ground to the top of trees. Worthless as fog lights, but they are kind of nice when its dark.

Somebody else had a posted a picture of amber LED fog lights in the bottom space of the front grill of a 2013, in retrospect that would be better.

I have 2012 SR5 and I really don't like the idea of having front blinkers acting as DRL because it is exactly how it works there. In 2012 DRL switch wire goes to Body ECU and the signal from ECU goes to flasher unit. When DRL are on, front blinkers are steady on. When you switch either turn signal than that light will start flashing while the other is steady on. Fricken confusing - who in DOT was crazy enough to approve that solution :wtf:.

So saying that I'm looking for some DLR/Fog combo that would 100% mechanically replace original fog light (2012 4R). The control module would have to work like that:

Power for DRL should come from the same fuse as blinker
Control (relay?) for light on/off would have to come from the wire between Body ECU and Flasher. Because this wire caries the output signal from ECU it already has all the build-in logic to control when DLR needs to be on (light switch position, parking brake position, key position etc...).

So actually I have three questions related to this 2015 LED Fog Light & DRL 2
in 1 (Part Number: 00016 - 48011):

1. Will it mechanically fit into 2012 Fog light mounting and electrical connection
2. Is it approved for Europe (RL and E-number on the lenses)
3. Is it any good as fog lights used in real fog as meteorological condition (not squirrel finders used for showing "how big my d1ck is")

If either of these answers is "No" do you guys know any light that would fit in these criteria?
