2in1 LED DRL Fogs

I dont know if [MENTION=103267]Saker[/MENTION] posted this video already b/c I'm at work and his video says I'm missing a plugin BUT I found this video while installing my Rigid D2's that [MENTION=120150]TotalAutomotiveLV[/MENTION] hooked me up with, which is also a plug n play and they are Bad Ass! The Rigid and harness set from them is like $380(give or take a few and that's for a D2 light, the D series SAE fog is cheaper). But if the other is $310, I'd spend the extra $70 and get a Rigid set and do the independent Fog light mod that [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] told us about

Did you guys considered LEDFOG101 from Osram? It is very easy to plug in (based on their installation instruction) and the size and design looks very common.

The one cool thing about it is that it is DOT and SAE certified so it is good in USA and any EU country as well. Other cool thing is that in US it can be coupled with blinkers to activate the cool feature "See where you are turning" (like I saw in some American brand cars).

Oh, anyway instead of waiting for your answer, I just ordered one from Amazon UK for $376 including Toyota specific brackets and shipping (no VAT and USD is quite strong to GBP). If it doesn't fit I will have it for other car (I hope) :ybrick:.

I'm curious if the Auer kit and the Toyota kit #00016-48011
are the same?

I cant find images for the Toyota kit, but the Toyota kit is $279.99 w/free shipping on Ebay and the Auer kit is $399.00

That's a BIG difference!

Anyone have one of these Toyota kits and can chime in please?

Plus you can do the disable DRL mod and really be set!!

Do you still remember (or have access to technical data) what is the current or power taken by each lamp? I can't find that info anywhere, and the image of the control box is not that sharp to show what is printed over there.

Sorry, don't have this info but fogs use factory harness and cause no computer errors so I assume 19 Wt per side as original halogens were.
The DRL are slightly more work as there are some wires, connectors and relays to work with but all took me about 3 hours from start to finish. instructions are pretty good on the internet. Make sure to adjust the height of the fog light beam at the end.
The kit does come with the lighted switch to be used instead of the blank on the dash (bottom left side)

Do 2015+ models have burned bulb sensor on Fog lights? In my 2012 model fogs don't have any "burned bulb detection" - dash does not show anything when halogen bulbs are not even present.

I would say 19W is very high power. My Led DRL/FOG take 7W per lamp and put quite a lot of light.

Would it be possible for you to take a picture of the wall lighted by these fogs. I'm wondering how would they compare to mine - I have no point of reference so I don't know really if Osram/Sylvania would be competitive deal to Auer/Toyota kit.

My only wish is that som manufacturer would put low color temperature LEDs for fog not 6000K like it is for DRL. With fogs it is all about functionality, not abut looks.

Beats me. They work fine with my Rigid Fog lights. I keep DRL on so I don't have to worry about remembering.

In 2010-2013 models DRL are front blinkers. The most stupid solution I have ever seen.:crazy:

Anyone have the lumen info for these?

My decision has come down to these or the Rigid dually fogs which have 1760 lumens. I imagine the Rigids are far brighter but would like to see the lumens for these for comparison.

Also looking for some pictures of light output from driver's seat with Headlights only and then with the fogs. Ideally someone that has done an HID conversion for the low beams (XENONDEPOT XTP-H11 - H11 Xtreme Digital HID Conversion Kits - 4300K Philips Bulbs) as I'll most likely be doing these fogs with the XENONDEPOT HIDs.

What's wrong? DRL is the first click on the headlights knob. You need to remember to click the DRL back from headlights to first click, at least on the 2010-2013.

Somebody posted a while back you ground some wire to have DRL on all the time, or maybe hook it up to a switch to ground. It did not look difficult.

What about in Canada? I thought Canada made DRL a law.

I have 2012 so I was on the same boat. I did reverse engineer what's going on with DRL control. The flasher has input (pin5) which will turn both front blinkers to DRL mode when this pin is grounded. Main body ECU is controlling that signal (there is a logic in there based on the light switch position and parking brake, and probably other sensors). So if you want to control stock DRL by switch you need to disconnect (or cut) the wire going to pin 5 and ground it by switch.

I replaced my original halogen fogs with OSRAM LEDFOG101 (Fogs and DRL in one) - see the whole thread I started OSRAM LEDFOG101 to be installed in 2012 SR5 . I did not disconnect pin 5 from flasher yet so my original blinker/DRL acts the same as stock but additional DRL (Osram) are on when engine is running and light position switch is in OFF/AUTO or DRL position (it would be illegal to drive Osram DRL at night as they are really bright and blinding). Such connection creates interesting lighting effect depends on light switch position:
Auto/OFF - only Osram DRL are on (bright white)
DRL - Osram and stock DRL are on (Bright white and amber)
TAIL - only stock DRL are on (amber)
HEAD - all DRL are off

In Canada, DRL's have been mandatory since 1991. Personally I love DRLs, because so many people (at least in TX) drive without headlights on when they should have their headlights on. DRL's at least give some light.

Not in TX only. I think it is too easy to get driver license in US - I see so many "retards" driving every day. And it seems Highway Patrol don't care that much. This is just one of many examples I capture on my dash camera every day .

I have these on my 16 if you want to see pics. They are pretty nice. the only downfall is the switch for DRL is not the same illumination (green instead of blue) and the halo of leds doesn't illuminate when the fogs are on unless you turn the DRLS on. Since i don't use the DRLS its kind of a pain.
