2nd Gen 2 door

Was wondering how rare the 2nd gen 2 door 4runners were? Are there many around with the 22re/5 spd combo or were most of them v-6's? I went and looked at one today with a buddy of mine and he bought it. I can only remember ever seeing one before and I think it's a pretty cool rig

They're not common and neither is a second gen with the 22re. There's not a lot of demand for the 2door models, but that's probably about as rare as the 4Runners get.

I'll just say that I think he got a pretty good deal on it! It has 166,000 miles on it. The 35" BFG's are probably 85% and a new matching spare

I don't think they made a 2nd gen 2 door with a 22re.

I'm pretty sure they did because that one has a 22re under the hood. I doubt someone swapped it in there

Hard to find. I remember seeing more of them ten years ago. Now I've only seen 1 in the past 5 years. They came in manual or auto with either engine. I hear the front doors are longer than on a 2 door. It must be a pain to track down spares.

Weird, every 2 door I have seen has a v6 badge on it.

Not really, the front door of the 2 door model is the same as the pickup truck.

thats beautful. was lookin for that one but could only find (and ended up with) my 4door. sweet find and it lokos like nice cond. :biggrin1:
