2nd Gen Acceleration Issue

Hello T4R peeps, I've got an issue with my 2nd gen that I'm trying to tackle.

FYI it's a 1991 4x4, 3.0 v6, 5-speed manual.

When driving if I apply like 1/4 throttle (and a tiny bit more) it drives fine and accelerates no problem, but when I go WOT (pedal to the floor) or anything a bit more than 1/4 throttle trying to get on the freeway it feels like it doesn't even want to try, and it doesn't even speed up. RPM and MPH does not increase at all. What could be the issue? Or where should I start?

Things that have already been replaced:
Fuel filter
Spark plugs
Wires
Cap
Rotor
Air filter

Sorry if this is a noob question, I've searched forums already and I'm reaching out to see if there's someone that may be able to help.

Sounds like you're going to have to dive into some electrical stuff. I'm sure someone else has experience. I don't with this problem. But I'd look at the TPS first. If it doesn't know you're WOT, it won't add the fuel.

Complex machines, can't just clean the jets in the carburetor.

I had the same problem. Plugged fuel filter due to a rusted fuel tank.

I second that! Sounds like a tps issue they are simple to test with a voltmeter.

TPS was good, brought it to a local mechanic recommended in the Socal forum and it turns out my timing was about 15 degrees off. All good now! I'll probably clean the throttle body next week as I don't think it's been done for a while.

I would recommend a few things just to cross them off your list
- pull Intake hoses and grab a old tooth brush and clean the throttle body with some carb spray or mass air flow cleaner
- check and see if your maf is faulty
- check to make sure egr is functioning. Pull small vacuum hose off and see if there is gas in it. If there is gas then it is bad
- check o2 sensor I believe you only have one so that should be simple enough

Put the plug from some other injector on the one that is not working. Does it work now? Plugs are firing?

^^ Don't be scared, on these trucks all injectors fire at the same time. Always.

Do you have the ground wire (3, 4) hooked up? Many forget those, they are kinda important.

Compression
So 4 actually, screw with any one of them and there are problems. Find out which one it is and then we dive into what can screw with whatever is missing. Switch parts from 1 cylinder to another and see if the problem follows the parts or stays with the cyl 3. There are other ways but this is the cheapest way.

have you checked the compression in all cyl.?
