2nd Gen Cup Holders

This look great man, if I had the money I would order one. Too bad engine intake and exhaust take precedence. Gotta make it reliable before I make it comfortable.

One suggestion I have for anyone thats an avid offroader is to get marine cupholders and mount them on the dash

Drink Holders | West Marine

Gyroscopic cupholders mean as you move left/right/up/downhill it'll keep the drink from spilling. Also means on a 1st gen w/ no cupholders you have a place to put it.
 
Had mine, finally installed it. I am very pleased
gray matches my gray interior well and black insert matches my black instrument panel.Thanks bhicks. Bhicks I am sending photo to your e-mail posting photos is beyond me.
 
Just a heads up to anyone planning on putting in an order before Christmas. We will be heading out of town from 12/18-12/29 visiting family in Colorado. Any orders that need to be shipped out and delivered by Christmas must be placed by this Thursday 12/15 in order to be shipped out before I leave and delivered before Christmas. No orders will ship out during the dates we will be gone. Orders will resume shipping out on 12/30.

All 2nd Gen cup holder versions have now been out for a while. I have the 2WD and 4WD auto and the manual cup holders in stock. The only issue now is that I'm heading out of town for 11 days. I do have a few in stock and actually painted, boxed up and ready to ship but other than that, I wont be able to process any more orders until I return on the 29th.

The thread was started well before the product ever existed. I actually had no intention of developing the 2nd gen cup holders but kept getting requests for them daily so I decided to give it a go. This thread is the process and feedback I used to get those cup holders designed and on the market. They went through quite a few versions (mostly from member feedback) to get to where they are today. I am still open to feedback and continued improvements on the designs.
 
It's been a while since I posted on here. I try not to promote my products anymore. Business is at the point where I'm now struggling to keep up. I try to avoid my old threads now BUT a question is now on my mind that I want to ask all the 4runner guys. I will be asking the same question to the 1st gen and 3rd gen guys. I'm looking to start downsizing this side business. I will be looking for vendors to start carrying my cup holders so I can step back from the business side of things and just focus on production. Here is my question to you guys. Would you be interested in purchasing the 3D CAD file of my cup holder designs? I'm thinking of opening up my files for download for guys that want to print my stuff on their own or hire someone to print for them. I will still offer the printing service but thought that some would be interested in the file. They would be around $5. If you are interested in the file then let me know. If there is good interest then I will probably go that route. If folks are fine with me printing all the cup holder and have zero interest in the file then I will probably avoid that route. A pm/message or posting here would be great. My thought was that this could possibly lower the demand on me for printing everything.

Between the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Gen folks I think I have around a dozen people interested in the CAD file. That doesn't really help me reduce demand/lower my stress. I was hopeful a large group would want the files and have access to getting them 3D printed. I guess we are a few years away from 3D printers being commonly available. Looks like I will just have to sit tight for a few years until the technology is more available.
 
As many of you already know and I recently found out; photobucket now charges a fee to host images. I am now realizing that all of my images in all of my threads are now blocked by photobucket. I'm going back through and posting the pics of the final designs of all the cup holders. Here's the 2nd Gen cup holders. All 3 versions are a double. They all look the same from the top but are very different underneath. They each have unique curvatures that match each unique console option. It's been a while since I have posted here. I have gotten a lot of requests over the last year to make more products like the 1st gen Cup holders. I finally got access to a console and have been working on addressing that useless square hole on the front of the console and making the storage space inside the console a bit more functional. Went through a few versions of each and finally got these two designs wrapped up. I will have these released on my site after the Valentines rush slows down. Probably in 1-2 weeks. Here are some pics of the final versions installed.
