2nd gen Roof Rack Question.

So I have a 1995 4Runner that has no roof rack and a sunroof.
I've read a few posts I found using the search I did but Im still unclear. Based on what I read it kinda sounded like having a sunroof creates problems with getting a roof rack.

Basically I want to get a roof rack complete with a cargo basket to maximize my cargo space because of the amount of camping I do but I am trying to avoid using the "Q-tower" type mount that Yakima offers and I dont have raingutters I dont think (dont quote me on that).

Is installing the rails on the roof an option? I think thats the same setup as the stock roof rack. Im trying to find a mostly permanent solution so I dont want the "clamp on" kinda rack and I need something sturdy but I suppose I'll use it if I have no other option.

Does anyone have any advice/suggestions?

I have a 94' with a sunroof and the stock roof rack. I assume that you could find the stock roof rack in a pick n pull or the like and just mount that to your roof. Make sure to seal the holes in your roof when you mount it. The only problems I have with the sunroof are that my custom top basket is not as long as I would prefer. Hope this helps.

I plan on installing one of these on my Gen1. You will have to drop the headliner to do it. This rack has two rails that run the full length front to back. They can be adjusted side to side on the rack and these are the rails that are mounted to the roof. You can find more detailed installation information on the Wilderness website.

On that website, it says that those wilderness racks will fit fiberglass tops only. I have done some more research in the past couple days and I think all I need to do is find some roof rack rails that will fit the space I have available on the top of my truck and drill some holes and install those, then I just need to purchase a couple crossbars and the cargo box.

I just need to research where to buy these rails, cross bars and cargo basket. I want something strong, durable and light weight, ARB makes a nice rack but its made of steel which is probably fairly heavy, the last thing my 3ZVE needs is a lot more weight to pull around.

Anyone have a setup on their truck that they can suggest?

EDIT: I actually went to the Garvin website and it says on there you can use the racks for fiber glass or trucks without OEM roof racks, thanks for the reply, I'll look into the Garvin Wilderness Rack.
