Also wanted to point out on my girlfriends '94 there was a moment of confusion when I disconnected the head unit. Stock connector didn't match the wiring kit I had purchased. Following the wires, they went into what I assume is an amp then from there the two standard connectors plug in.

Wasn't sure why a plane ole cassette deck needed an amp, but I just neatly tied up the wire and left it alone.

I did this for mine yesterday, but when I got to wiring up the harness, I got some serious trouble. I can't find any accurate wiring diagrams online. I tried matching some wires up just to the power ones. (ground, 12v..ect..) But the new HU didn't power up...

What headunit are you wiring in? Also what color wires you got left over? I've wired up several headunits now and usually the left over wires are for power antennae, remote wire, aux, second ground etc. Maybe I can help.

It's a pioneer CD HU. I know certain assignments to the wires, but not all because they aren't consistent with every toyota source.

i think what I need is just a toyota to pioneer wiring harness. that would be way simpler

Is your stock harness cut? Or is the plug still their? If your plug is still their you should be able to connect it easy. The bottom of the radio usually has a diagram and the harness plug comes with a wiring diagram also.

I've got the wiring diagram and the head unit on its way, but I'm having a hell of a time trying to figure out where to get the install kit and wiring harness. I thought I found one website but they wanted $50 shipping.

I need to get a pocket as well since I have the factory cd player under the radio. Any help on what parts I need? and where to get them?
