just bought this 93 sr5 about a month ago for 1500. i am in love with it

thanks, well first is the new head unit - Pioneer DEH-P7200HD - which i ordered last week.
im not too interested in a huge system with lots of bass because my daughter will be riding in it. but music is my passion, so im mostly gonna try to get quality audio with some bass. im also thinking whether it would be possible to use a usb powered 1 terrabyte hardrive to have all my music with me at all times.

thanks, well first is the new head unit - Pioneer DEH-P7200HD - which i ordered last week.
If you have a terrabyte of music, you have QUITE a collection. My friend and I are each running aftermarket head units with outboard amps and in-wall speakers and boxed subwoofers. His hits much harder, whereas mine is a cleaner bass. I would recommend an outboard amp (maybe a 5 channel) and installing an small to medium sized sub. Unfortunately, the sonic properties of the interior of a 4Runner will never be mistaken for a BMW 7 series. You'll need a bit of power (or maybe dynamat to quiet the interior) in order to get the quality you're listening for.
I'm still interested in reading about the progress.
yeah, i have a pretty varied taste in music, so i have lots of different stuff (a couple hundred gigs on a hardrive + 6 full cd books), plus i need a little room for expansion. im hoping that a terrabyte would last me for a little while since im always getting new stuff.
id like to run new speaker wire (i have a bunch left over from another project) and at that point ill pull the speakers that are in there and start researching which new speakers i want to get. i was thinking about getting an amp to run those speakers, and then maybe like a bazooka tube to conserve space in the back. dynamat or something like it is definitely in the plans. ill be sure to put up pics in my album and message you when i start getting some of it done.

Bought this for my son back in March
I picked up this real clean 91 for my 15 year old son back in March, found it on Craigslist, the guy wanted $900, said it wouldn't start, so my wife got him down to $700 and they made the deal. 214k miles and in super nice shape, only thing was he didn't tell my wife the motor was knocking!! So, it sat at my shop up until 10/14/2010 when I was finally able to start the work on it. I had purchased a replacement motor from a 4runner parts guy in Garland TX, he said he knew the history of the motor and it was out of a low mile 4runner, so I didn't believe him and tore the motor apart myself, I inspected all the mains and rod bearings, replaced the oil pump, ported and polished the heads and intakes, completly cleaned and repainted every part of the motor, cleaned all the nuts and bolts too! When I had the motor out I hand scrubbed the engine compartment due to my power washers death. Finally got the motor in after a week of cleaning and one week later it was alive!
My son love's his new toy, not as much as I do! He has a learners permit now so I am going to teach him everything he needs to know about taking care of it and also off roading in it.

Here are some pictures of my son and his new ride. We played around yesterday in some mud for the first time.
I failed to mention that the guy we bought it from put a new transmission and transfer case in, new BFG All terrain tires, and a new ac compressor in before the motor started to knock, he said he couldn't afford to fix it and his loss was my gain. I'd say he was right!

Here is my 1995 T4R SR5 4x4 I'll post more better pictures this weekend.
just got it yesterday, but it is in my hometown right now, so I'll have to wait until this weekend to get it. It has 167,xxx miles on it (the previous owner put a lot miles on it due to his traveling almost 150-200 miles each day on highway), underneath the T4R is very clean, all it needs are new shocks and new front tires. I used to have 1994 T4R SR5 4x4, and it was fully loaded about 5-6 years ago, but I totaled it

new tube bar and snorkle
Jerry can and wheel holders
Bunged in dual batteries for the winch too

Sweet ride... was the tube bar, snorkle and rear all custom? Or where could I pickup the same parts?
Im finding it hard to find many good parts for the 95 now.. Just picked one up so let the mods begin
