So I'm new to the forum, but this is my runner. I've got a detroit true-trac posi in the rear and the 3.0 V6 in it. What gearing does everyone have in the diff? Cause I got it used, but mine came stock with 4.56 as far as I can tell, cause those were stock gears in it, but that seems absurdly low. I'm not complaining though . This is some pictures from when I went and had some fun with it.

And then this is where it sits right now, it should be finished this weekend, but every weekend I can come back from college I've been coming up to put that 4" pro comp lift on it. It's got a warn bumper with a warn 8000 lbs winch on it, in addition to the 33" toyo mud terrains that fit on it stock.

Good to see that front tire hang, my stock gearing is also 4.56.

IMO The magnaflow's i have had are garbage, My Ranger sounded like a 4banger when I had it, and I had lost some low end, only gained high end. Not what you need off-roading, the Flowmaster super 44 however has a low beefy growl and it gave me some power all through the power ban. Magnaflow is just overpriced and not worth it. That's just my .02. it's your rig do as you feel, that will make you the happiest in the end!!

a local company down here called kennesaw mountain accesories. they ship there products but i wouldnt go that rout. let me dig up the thread i posted conaining the trouble with that.

Im new to the thread as well as the 4runner community in general. i have been enjoying all of your pictures on here and I wanted to post pics of my '91 4X4 Standard.

I live in Hawaii, and this truck is perfect for our conditions (which is just a big rock). This truck gets me to secluted surf spots around the island that alot of other cars/trucks couldnt.

Also, I love beer after surfing...so on the days when Ive had 1 or 10 too many, I have an air matress, flat screen, fan for circulation, and marine battery set up so basically the 4runner becomes my sleeping quarters right here on the beach.

My biggest hurdle for my 4runner is the rust. Many dont realize but metal on toyotas out here in Hawaii rust QUICKLY because of the sea air- especially at the bottoms of the doors & fenders.
There is a possibility that once I patch my rust spots, I will rhino line the ENTIRE body of the truck. Im wondering if anyone can offer alternitive solutions to the rust issue out here in my climate.

You can try POR15 or any other agent that is similar to POR15. I have tried Rust Doctor on my old truck, and it worked extremely well. It stopped all the rust. All I did was to sand the rust away, put primer on, then put Rust Doctor on it. I believe that Rust Doctor is cheaper than POR15.

Sure. Below the comment window. (the one I'm writing in at this very moment) You'll find "submit reply" below that there is a similar button with "manage attachments"

click that button.Then there will another window open up (a popup, perhaps you'll need to change settings in firefox or chrome for popups) and you can choose browse there. click that, find the image on your hard drive and select "upload" button next to "browse" .

When that's done, write something in this comment window and press "submit reply"

All done!

Just purchased last week. 1995 Limited 3.Slow 4x4 Manual tranny from the Original owner with 108K on it. Very pleased. Only drawback is that the kids won't leave me/it alone long enough to keep it clean for pictures. We've been finding dirt trails in the local area just to have an excuse to go offroad. They are smarter then I am I guess. Came with full Yakima accessories on the roof but I've taken everything off except the crossbars. Rolling with 31s with is just enough for some light trails North of home in the next few weekends.

hell i i know, they were on it when i got it. ill get something different when they wear out. actually now that i think about, they are fantastic for the price. they wear decent, clean out well, do decent in rocks and snow. for the price they are good tires. they are a bit loud on road but they do well offroad. they are tough. i have spent a good bit of time crawling around acres of clear cut land that hasnt been cleaned up (might as well be a mine field for tires)
