2UZ Swap, no problem.....has anyone else seen this?

So I realize that [MENTION=59542]Singtoe[/MENTION] in all his mastery has done the V8 swap, and then supercharged it to make it that much more ridiculously awesome. I know he has the most informational thread out there. Has anyone seen this company in Oregon who does these harnesses? I will leave the link below. [MENTION=59542]Singtoe[/MENTION], do you think this is a fair price for a plug and play harness?

I've never researched the swap (Day dreamed about it, but never researched), but if I read that right, they would want $600 -$700 for one. That's a lot of $$$. On the other hand, I know my time is valuable, and by the time I scrounged all the parts, made the splices and tested (all doing this for a project I've never done before) I would've wasted quite a bit of my time. Plus a few temper tantrums, loosing some hair, and maybe even a stroke, it might be well worth it.

Wow.... sorry for that babble.... Just woke up and one cup of coffee. I should've just said, "I have no idea, it could go both ways depending on your skills and cash flow"

I think it's worth it for time savings alone. But I didn't see 5vz/2uz harness option.

Sure it could easily be done by them. Between wiring, manifolds, and mating up to the rest of the drive line I'm sure cost to time/fab skills will be worth it to some that have little of both.

I know it says that they can do it for you. You just have to call them and let them know what swap you're doing. That's how I read it at least. But you're right the time alone saved creating the wiring harness would be tremendous. I hate to keep using [MENTION=59542]Singtoe[/MENTION] as an example, but he's one of the only 2UZ's I have ever heard of in the US. And I would imagine he spent quite a bit of time getting the harness right.

IMO, all 3rd party wire harness's are VERY close and RUNNING condition, but Singtoe made his perfect...

I do think they can do a great job IF you supply both of the harnesses... I would not trust them finding the exact same as your vehicles...

another thing to think about, is wire length... they can get everything connected but what about the slack or lack of wire? it'll be close but not clean.

I will say one thing, TOS is a good company. I had them do my 3.4 swap into my previous 88 4Runner and it was very clean. Totally recommend them and their work.

How were the lengths on the harness when you put it in?

They did the install, but used a donor harness from the donor vehicle, etc. Since they installed it all the wiring was well-placed/length and even allowed them to relocate some items to tidy up and organize the engine bay nicely.

I was speaking more to their quality of work. I would not hesitate recommending them based on my experience with them.

That would be the way to go, install the 2uz and have them wire it together...
