2wd spindles on a 4wd??

Ok, so I have a 93' surf 1kz-te(not running), auto, chain drive transfer, arb locker in the rear, full 8point cage that incorporates rear shock hoops, rear suspension consists of deavers with 12in shackles hung on top of frame - fox three tubes and fox air shocks. Front suspension consists of tube uppers - boxed lowers - looks like plus 5in per side - not sure what kit it is - glass fenders. Anyway, I want to do a GM 3.8ltr V6 and T5 swap, push the engine and box back and convert to rear wheel drive.

What I'm lookin to find out is,
1- apart from the deletion of the transfer and drive shaft, what else needs to happen to convert to 2wd? Im hoping I can just install 2wd gear like spindles/hubs, and remove drive shafts and third member? Any help with advice hear would be greatly appreciated.

I'm down in oz, and no we didn't get the 2wd runners down hear. Also I chose this engine for a few reasons, one- availability and affordability, these engines are so cheap I can buy a whole donor car for $300-$500, every junk yard in every town has these. Two- I have experience in doing this conversion.

2 - the T5 has a slip yolk out put, so I'm wondering if I have to run the slip yolk, with a short jack shaft to a center/carrier bearing, to double garden then basic long slip drive shaft??

I'm wanting to end up with a high speed long travel prerunner style 2wd.

Rockauto.com doesn't say anything about different part numbers for 2wd vs 4wd, as far as the control arms go, and if there's no difference there I don't see why a 2wd spindle couldn't be made to work. Simpler to just hack up the CV shafts and use a stub to plug the backside of the 4WD spindles that are already on there though.

That seems reasonable. I'm assuming the 2WD trans is shorter, which should give you room for the center bearing without screwing up your driveshaft/pinion angle too bad.

Firstly, thanks heaps for your feedback, I appreciate all valid and reasonable knowledge. But I'd rather use the 2wd spindles/hubs for neatness and redundancy as I'm trying to use as many of the most commonly available junkyard parts I can, I'm trying to keep this project cheap as I only payed pennys for it. I'd rather not have a hacked up cv stuck in there and a locking hub still in place.

Yep the deletion of the transfer would gain me so extra room, and the use of a double garden would allow me to rotate the pinion aswell.
Once I get it goin abit I'll probably end up linking the rear and swapping the air shock for a c/o, and installing bump cans all round. Thanks again for responding. Bud
