2wd vs 4wd for v6 4runners 2003 and up

I live in upstate NY. Winters and hunting trips give me lots of opportunity to use the 4wd capability.

Durring winter I put it in 4wd when it's raining. It keeps the traction control and stability control from kicking in. Don't get any snow where I live.

Same here in MN. I also use it any time its in question, like during summer downpours, driving on gravel and dirt roads, and of course when driving in fields and such to hunt in the fall. When it snows, I leave it in 4wd all the time. I also use it on boat ramps for peace of mind.

I use 4WD when I'm heading up to the sierras to snowboard during the winter, about 200 miles during each trip. I go back to 4WD once I reach the lower elevations. I also use 4WD for 10 miles each month as stated by the manual. I like the lighter steering wheel feel of 2WD.
