3.0 Turbo Diesel Tranny?

Does the 5 speed out of the 3.4l gas work with the 3.0l TD in the surfs?

Thanks im riding some hope cause the most of the land rover models hold the tranny between the gas and diesel engines.

It was techinacally my first car (awesome) because it was the extra vehicle because the 4runner still isnt home i bought it in Feb and im finnally fixing it tommorow (third memeber), My dad wanted to thin out the fleet of vehicles seeing as its expensive to maintain and would be a waste to pay for it just to sit there. But once i graduate college in 5 years i will be on the hunt for a defender, they are so fun to drive. But my plan for the 4runner is too put the diesel in it and keep it forever.
