3.0l td pass emmisions on a 97 4runner?

Does the 3.0l Turbodiesel in the hilux surf pass emmisions here in the states.

No. We dont have deisel emission testing here. At least here in california

should be fine...most states and provinces have less strict emissions for diesels or none at all. If you do the swap, keep us posted. Not many have done it.

97 is OBD2 and in most states the inspection is done simply by hooking up the inspection station to the car's OBD connector and reading the sensors

if you can make it work without a check engine light, you should be able to pass

but it's hard to tell for sure because every state is widely different on their inspection requirements
