I’ve been trying to find out more info, but I’ve read a crankshaft position sensor could go without throwing a code. This one sat for a few months, then the battery died. The guy replaced it and it started right up. Ran for 20 minutes and he went back to start it up and it wouldn’t turn over. There’s fuel pressure at the injector rail (loosened the line and had someone crank the engine, gas shot out). Does it make sense that the crankshaft position sensor would appear that the ECU and the rest of the engine is disabled?
Only code it had previously was a random misfire code but the spark plugs are going on 150k. Not sure on the timing belt age and if it could slip to the point of causing a no spark/no fuel situation. Crankshaft position sensor might be the issue but not sure how to confirm it. It’s stuck at the dealership so perhaps I could ask them.
Is the dealer asking for more time to look at the truck that you are unwilling to pay for? I don't see why they wouldn't check timing (jumping time can cause this) or signals from the EFI/spark controlling sensors.
