3.4 v6 engine question?????

Is the 3.4 v6 the same in the 96 - 02 4 runner? I am trying to buy a new intake and S&B has one but it says fits 99-02 4 runner. But it doesnt say they have one for a 97 4runner?! If the engine is the same then I will order an intake for a 99 4runner. Is there any difference???? HELP!

i believe so...

So i was originally going to respond YES they are the exact same, but then i decided to research it a bit. My research leads me to believe that they are the same engines, or at least put out the same HP and torque, at the same rpm's. Same towing, etc. Maybe the reason the intake is only for 99-02 is perhaps the engine bay is arranged a bit different??? I do not think that is the case, but i would definetely contact them and ask before going ahead and buying it.... hope this helps a bit.... here are the links to edmunds where i got my info...
