3.4l A/C Compressor Issue

I have a 1997, and my A/C compressor went tits up. Rather than buying aftermarket- or more than I want to spend on OEM brand new- I got a compressor from a 30k mile 3.4l Japanese take-out engine.

I ran into a problem when I pulled the old compressor out to compare-

Old ports-

Does anyone know- for a fact- that the compressors did- or did not- change for any year 3.4l?
The newer compressor uses 8" hardline riser tubes off the compressor for the high/low lines. I saw the 3.4l it was pulled off of, and it looked just like mine, but might have been from a different application vehicle in Japan. The bracket that supports the 8" risers has a bracket that would be a direct fit to my passenger head.
I think my best bet is to return the compressor, and see if he has one that is a direct fit.
That said- I'm not opposed to using this pump if I just need a couple lines from a newer rig.

I Googled "2004 Toyota 3.4 AC Compressor", and it came up with images that still looked like my '97 pump...
