Have you considered these?

Meteltech also carries the icons you listed for less on their site also. Both options are progressive. Ideally, you will want to match up a pair of shocks to go with the extra travel length provided by the springs.

You should use a longer stroke shock, longer brake lines and extended sway links if you want to properly run a rear 3".

Thanks. Looks like I'd have to go with their HD springs to get 3". I bet that would be pretty stiff?

Not sure if the Icon springs are HD or not.

this ^

i run icon 2" rear coils with 5100s and its right at the edge of their travel, especially when flexed. gotta be careful with that kind of thing, don't wanna tear a shock in two.

Dunno if you realize this or not, but when you go 3" rear suspension lifts like these, you enter the zone of "extended travel" suspensions. Therefore, the 5100 shocks are too short to match up with these types of springs as we have indicated. You'll need different shocks that can extend 19+ inches just to keep up with the springs. You want your extended spring length to be the limiting factor, not the extended shock arm length.

Ebg18t said it best, altho you can relocate your brake lines disconnect your sway bar to avoid having to replace them, but you can't avoid getting matching shocks.

Thanks for the info guys. This truck never sees any off-road so I'm not worried about flex. But I do realize 5100s with 3" in the rear is a bad thing.

Heres another question...with the height adjustable 5100s in the front, do you have to remove them to adjust the height? I did the install and placed the height at 2.5" I believe. I was hoping it would settle but it hasn't so I'm dragging ass with 2" corn-feds in the rear.

yes, you need to remove them and disassemble them again

Bro lean much? Looks cool on baja and extended travel trucks, but not on lightly modded 4Rs.

I didn't completely remove mine. Jacked and on stands, just loosened the top bolt and removed the bottom bolt, then pry the LCA down and wiggle out the bottom end of coilover until the springs are free of pressure. Took pliers to the adjustment ring and relocated perch.

That's what I was thinking. Now I just have to decide to do that or increase height in the rear.
 
Will the Icon Rear 2.5s with Extended Travel work with a 3" or 3.5" coil? Thinking about aftermarket rear bumper weight and will likely need to upgrade the coils.
 
Can I get any larger tires in there with 3" in the rear and 2.5" in front? I currently have 265/70R17s.
 
Guys,

I have some fox rr rear shocks and was told they would provide 2-3" of lift. Is there a way to determine if these 3" rear coils will be compatible with my shocks? Lastly, which manufacturer do you guys prefer for upper/lower links? Track bar? I'm just now beckoning to venture into the modification realm with my 4runner now that my Tacoma is just about done. So, at this point, I'm installing fox RR shocks all around with tc UCAs. So, I'm sure I'll be back researching various processes. Thanks!!
