3" Lift Kit, Best bang for my buck

Does it matter what year for the Tundra Coils and Struts? I am looking to do the Tundra front and FJ80 Rear Spring set up and I have a line to get 2000 Tundra front suspension?

I think they're from the off road edition. Just look at the color codes... Yellow/Yellow and Yellow/Blue (can't remember which one's driver/pass but look up Rickashay's comparison. It's extremely helpful.

Does the TRD springs and shock make a big difference than stock?

What Fightman80 said. Here was my cost.
1.) Tundra TRD springs and shocks. $100 at a junk yard (lucky).
2.) Toytec 3/4" Top Plate spacer. $60.00
3.) Toytec Diff drop $30.00
4.) Rancho RS5000 shocks $120.00 (I had previously replaced these so they were on the truck when I did the lift)
5.) OME 890 springs. $170
Total: $480.00 not bad at all.

I'm looking to put a lift of my 99 runner and and looking at going the route of getting the tundra coils and shocks. I'm just brand new to this and want to make sure I order all the correct parts. When looking online I'm finding a lot of cool and shock assembly's but can't seem to find a TRD one. Can anybody help a newbie please and thanks!!

I know all the information is pretty much here in the thread already I was just wondering if anyone here had a source for landcruiser springs and such in Canada.

In order to install the lc8 coils would you need anything else

I agree with Deceptiwave. I did the same lift the 1st time, and ended up buying something else after not even a year!

My suggestion, go on E-bay. Try to find a set of slightly used TRD Tundra Strut assemblies from a 2002 Access Cab Tundra. Then talk to Duhockey, try to get a set of 8 Wrap LC Coils, if not the 8 wraps, he's currently doing a survey to see how many people would be interested in the 9 wrap LC Coils.

Just another interesting piece of info:

You would spend just as much on my setup as you would for the budget lift from Toytec. The only thing I would bother to buy from Toytec, would be Diff Drop kit, and top plate spacers with the extended nuts. Use the top plate spacers on the top of your Tundra Assemblies, and the LC Coils! Longer shocks would be a good idea for the rear. You can get a set of those for about $115.00 a pair.

By the way, the Tundra/LC coils, give a much better ride! For me, this is the best "budget" setup, and gives an amazing ride quality over stock!

Ok since someone else bumped this old thread. I'd like to ask a question as well.

I have TRD tundra coils and LC 7.5 wraps I'm planning to install soon.

I see many people mention top plate spacers. But I've heard others that just ran the front struts on the second perch of the bilsteins.

So my question is, what do you recommend that I do?

TRD tundras on the second perch or should I run them on the lowest perch and get a top plate spacer? And if so, what size?

What will give me a smoother ride? And out of curiosity, what perch setting does Sonoran Steel suggest?
