3" Spacer Lift Kit Questions

i don't want to start a new thread for this but i have two random questions. first, those lights in front of the grille have been growing on me. how much for a pair of those and hows the installation? second, i saw a land rover the other day that had cables on each side of the hood running from the headlights up to above the windshield. i'm guessing they are for branches while wheeling and since most places i wheel have tons of low hanging branches this caught my attention. any info regarding this?

my lights are hella 500's (as are the ones in the pic i posed i believe)... theyre like $70/pair. install isnt bad, there are instructions on 4runners.org

i have no idea what "cables" youre talking about

fixed lift pictures

this is 2 inch bl plus 3 inch suspension lift.

I suggest the toytec spacer lift and then get a 1 inch bl or if you want 2 inchs. no more though

damn thats sexy. that's the route i plan on taking once more cash becomes available. as for the cables i was talking about, i've been through over a thousand pictures so far on the net and only found one alright pic

that's what i figured. i'm going to put them on the 4r i need to find a writeup or something, unless i'm the first to do this on a runner which i doubt

I probablly will soon but most likely ill have the mounts fixed by my uncle, cut up and reinforced for the winch later on
 
neli any additional info on those cables?

and lee did you find any side shots of your buddies runner?

I dont know who makes em, most likely heavy duty wire that is gauged to the safari rack up top and a arb or tjm bumper below

the arb 4th 4runner version has these wires. serach arb 4th gen 4runner
 
lee i hate to be the thorn in the side but could you get that dude to get that side pic? its an imperative factor in my decision making process
 
Not exactly the picture you're looking for re: the body lift, but I just had 3" Revtek spacers installed. Ended up giving me 2" in the front and 1.5" in the back on 265/75R16. Looking at coils in the rear to level everything off.

Alright i'm making my final decisions for the lift kit. Neli i'm going off that night picture you put up on pg 2 for an ideal finished product. i'm looking at the 3" w/ diff drop kit on this page http://www.toyteclifts.com/96024runnercart.html#96024runnerliftkits. my plan is to get it all shipped, take it to my neighbor's auto shop and have him put it on. please let me know if there's anything else i need in conjunction with this.

also, i'll be getting the body lift most likely during the rest of the operation and putting the 285/75s on my stock rims. someone at discount tire told me that the 97's stock aluminum rim couldn't bear the pressure of 285/75s. i'm hoping i don't have to buy aftermarket rims just yet so PLEASE someone let me know if that's true.

just overall any necessary additions, what have you. thanks again for the help so far

dunno what the idiot is talking about, only thing you need to worry about is the backspacing of the rims not allowing you to mount up front due to the control arms, easy fix with 1/4 or 1/2 inch wheel spacers
 
i'm guessing if it was absolutely necessary i'd go with the 1/4" considering i like where my tires sit. a few questions

how much would a pair cost?
where could i find them?
hows installation?

while i'm at it, neli what'd you do
 
I have trd ivan stewarts right now. I absolutely love the 5 star wheels and plan to get them. going to have two sets of wheels and tires.

1/4 will work. Pepboys has em or any auto place.

My ivans are 16x8 4.5 bs

the 5 stars are the same as yours as 16x7 4.375bs
 
so is the above kit i mentioned EVERYTHING i need? i just want to make sure when i bring him the runner and the box to put everything on i don't want him calling saying everythings on but you're missing a piece
