30" Light Bar Behind Grille Mounts?

I've been searching and searching, and while I'm sure this has been covered multiple times, I'm not finding what I'm looking for so I'm ready to bite the bullet and get flamed a bit for starting what might have been covered many times. I just need the info.

I'm wanting to put a 30" Rigid E-Series Light Bar behind the grille on the 2017 Off-Road 4Runner, but the mounts I keep running across are for 32" bars. I've seen some members on here make their own, but I honestly wouldn't be able to pull that off, way out of my league.

Is there a mount that perhaps I'm missing? Or a way to use the Rago Fabrication and add some sort of stabilizer between the gaps of the bar and mounts to where I can use it? I noticed in the installation video when locking the mounts down with the 14mm bolts to the frame, the mounts will slide inward/outward before tightening. If I put them more inward than outward would that put me closer to 30?"

Also, being in California, would I still be okay with air flow to the radiator being it's a single and not a double bar? Or should I steer away from this in general because of air blockage?

Why not call Rago Fab and ask about fitting the Rigid E-series 30"? Looking at specs for the bar it's not exactly 30" anyway. A phone conversation and several detailed questions with a product manufacturer is probably better information than what some of us may surmise or guess in the forums. Also post the info you get here to help the rest of people.

I'll go ahead and give them a call. I figured when it said '32"' it meant just that. Along with a fair amount of others having them behind their grille I figured maybe there was something out there that I just wasn't finding.

I called rago yesterday about this exact thing and he said they work with the 30 inch light bars with no problem so I ordered the brackets to go with the 30 inch black oak bar I had on order.

Can confirm with 2flyfishin. They said the 30" Rigid will work with no modifications or extra items needed.

No. That was my question too. I saw that they used to sell spacers but he said they aren't needed. If you're looking at the rigid light bars, I'd check out black oak led. The rigid bars are ipk68 and the black oak are ipk69. They also are 2 to 3 hundred dollars cheaper with a better rating.

Was just checking them out. Pretty impressed and for the price. I know there are cheaper ones out there, but some just seem cheaply made (expected). Want something that is going to last and handle what I throw at it.

Looks like they're having a Spring sale too. Perfect. Now I just need to learn how to do wiring :laugh:

I did a lot of reading on light bars before I ordered the black oak. 4x4 magazine reviews, consumer reviews, videos, etc. A lot of the same names kept popping up for the top brands in quality. Black oak was one of them and for the price, to me it was a no brainer. Like you, I want 1 that will last. I only want to do the install once. I was even thinking with they money saved buying one of these verses a rigid, I can pay to have it professionally installed.

Very true. My brother is a mechanic, car guru, etc. He said it's pretty simple and he can walk me thru it over the phone if I ran into any issues, but like you, if it came down to it get it installed professionally.

Bracket and bar should be easy, everything else would be a first time for me.

I installed a 32" Opt7 bar several months ago, and I could tell that the bracket from Rago Fabrication is designed to take several variations of light bars. I was at Rago Fabrication yesterday, and this topic came up. I was told that the Rago Hidden Light Bar Brackets are made to fit an array of light bars in this size range. This is due to several LED bar manufacturers having several different lengths in the same category as well as being able to center the bar in your grill. Sometimes the casing is different and sometimes the number of LED squares are different. In my opinion, the bracket is very well designed to accommodate as many bars as possible while still being very sturdy and well built.
