30 Second Tent potential GB.

So, I recently bought this tent and I told several that were interested in it that I would post how I liked it. Bottom line. I love it! It is quick, very durable, and well built. I was able to set up with-in the time of a compadres RRT's setup time. I plan on getting a video of the setup done in the next 2 weeks too.

It has a zip on awning and also has a zip on flap that attaches directly to a truck awning, i.e. Smittybuilt's awning.

If anyone is interested Im working on a group buy for the beginning of November. The cost (without shipping if necessary) is 450.00 each and will most likely only do it if I get around 10 people committed, Ill be cross posting this for greater exposure.

Wow, $450 and it comes with the awning attachments. That's not bad considering the Mombasa version is $450 shipped but does not come with the extras. do you know if the awnings and other attachments fir the mombasa brand?

I do not. I have not looked into Mombasa, however the awnings just a zip on with a heavy duty #10 zipper.

Waterproof ripstop material, setup is a couple min., one of very (very) few tents that is 6.5' tall while not being in the 8'x8'+ footprint (and is a very strong material used for the foot print). It would be a fairly comfortable all-season tent, as all the sides open up pretty wide.

You are right, it is a just a ground tent, but comparable tents go for much more into very very much more. Ive been through a handful of tents and have yet to find one that meets my wants, this one by far does.

We had some extremely bad wind the first night out in it and I was honestly impressed with its sturdiness...rain came the last night and again I was impressed.

There are many people that don't care to spend several hundred on a tent. I understand this style of tent is not for them. It is expensive, however to have a tent that sets up in seconds (less staking) and stores away easily, it's worth it to some.

I have two of these in the Mombasa brand. They are great for our family camping needs.











The Mombasa tents are $445 Shipped vs these at $450 plus shipping, BUT the Mombasa does NOT come with a full awning and they do not come waterproofed.

What I can say is, this style of tent is very handy to have and worth looking into.

I thought most canvas tents were considered 4 season? My canvas Turbo Tent ground tent is considered 4 season. It's 10x10 and was around $560, and this 30 sec tent sets up much faster, although it is smidge smaller (6.5' square instead of a 10' square). Surprisingly it didn't snow on the last trip so we didn't get to test the snow load capacity on the 30 sec or my RTT. Snow load was fine on the Turbo when we took it out the last time it snowed, except the awning which collapsed (I didn't angle down one side per the instructions). My RTT kept me dry but it did pool a bit of water on the roof above the covered entryway.

I was able to set up with-in the time of a compadres RRT's setup time.

I say we have a setup-off, which would include setting up bedding op2: I will concede already though that I would loose the putaway-off.

Tear down is part of it, so Ill gladly do a setup/tear down-off. Ill even give you a 45 min head start, LOL.

Stupid question, but what brand is this? The only thing I could find is made by Oztent and I know that isn't the brand.

I don't think this GB is for the brand-name with warranty kind of stuff, hence the price is low. Definitely NOT Oztent.
