$3000 TRD Pro discounts

Anyone seeing big discounts on the 4runner TRD Pros now that the 2020 models have been announced with the larger infotainment screen and Apple CarPlay?

A local dealer has 3 Tacoma TRD Pros....black, white and Voodoo blue and is advertising $3000 off MSRP on each. Haven’t seen that before. I’m guessing everyone is waiting on the 2020 Tacoma for the above mentioned upgrades as well as the new power, height adjustable seat.

Will prob never see those kinds of discounts on the 4runner. The Tacoma is much higher volume. Edmunds shows 18 4runner TRD Pros within 200 miles and 87 Tacoma TRD Pros. Supply and demand.

FWIW Valenti Toyota (Westerly, RI) was telling me they see a big difference in demand for Tacoma vs 4R for the Pros. They had 2 Tacoma Pros that had been sitting for at least a few weeks when my pro got delivered.

I have seen 4runner pros sitting for months unsold lately in my area.

Yeah, you NEVER saw that before. Every Pro in my area was always pre-sold or gone within a couple days in the past. It’s gotta be a combination of things.....big price increase, polarizing specialty color and roof rack and the upgrades coming in 2020.

I'd agree it is a difference between the Taco and 4Runner... that being said, you could probably still grab one up in RI at $3k off MSRP and spend $1k trucking it out to California, sell it and make a $3-5k profit....

Also, there's a '19 TRD Pro Tacoma at one of my local dealerships that has been in the same parking spot since at least early February, maybe they aren't selling well

Which dealership??? I was on the waiting list in multiple dealerships in Portland.

I finally got a call from Toyota of Bend and pick one up in January after waiting for 6 months.

The Tacoma Pro’s don’t move fast. One has been sitting at Camelback Toyota for like 2 months;Voodoo Blue. Not in demand like 4Runner Pro

Tarbox Toyota had a Voodoo blue that sat out front on the display on the main road for about two months. Whole different market here on the east coast.

Thinking I should rent a car carrier, buy up a few 4runner TRD Pros and a few Tacoma TRD Pros and drive them out to California. I’ll make a bundle!

Doesn’t seem so. They make a lot more of them so it’s gotta just be a supply and demand issue. Are the 4runner Pros still selling for $5k over sticker in California?

In Texas you see the Tacoma's sit for months at times where the 4Runner's are usually sold before they hit the lot. A local dealer has had one of the 2019 TRD Pro 4Runners on their lot for a few months now but with the $3K+ price increase, the awful FJC roof rack, and the onset of the 2020 MY Pro's with the long overdue upgrades, I am not all that surprised by this. Combine all of that with the release of the new JL, Ford Ranger, and the soon to be released Jeep Gladiator and I can understand why sales might be beginning to slump.

This one at royal moore toyota has been there for months. There was another before that one that sat for a long time. They also have a trd pro tundra and tacoma that have been there a while. Not sure if they are discounting any prices though, I just know they have been there a while....

I'm going to assume were in the same area (GB Maryland), the dealership down the road from me has had a Voodoo Pro Tacoma in front for awhile now. I took my 4runner in for a service last week and the sales guy was trying HARD to get me to trade for it....lol

One thing that keeps the 4runner Pros a little more in demand is not only the fact that they make less of them than the Tacoma Pros but also the exclusivity of the special colors. With the Tacoma, you can get all the special colors in the other trim levels. You can get inferno, cement, cavalry blue and quicksand in the lower trim levels. You can buy a cavalry blue TRD sport with the hood scoop and throw on some TRD wheels and tires and swap out the grill and you’ve got the look of the PRO for thousands less.

Yea that has been there for a while, I drive by it quite frequently... Toyota of Bowie has a black on (the one I was talking about) that has been on a ramp for display as you drive up
