305's on stock TE 17x7.5" wheels?

I've seen plenty of guys running 285's on stock trail edition 17x7.5" wheels...I was wondering, has anyone run larger tires like 305's or bigger?
I like the wheels too much to part with them but still want to go bigger/wider?

if dudes can run 205s on 11" wheels and stretch sidewalls as hard as they do you should be fine going a little bigger with a smaller wheel :lol:

but they would be "outside the manf recommendations"

I was thinking along the same lines, I've only heard of "issues" if airing down, but I would think a 7.5"wide wheel with a 12" wide tire wouldn't be overly stressing the sidewall to the point of breaking the bead.

Not saying the world will end if you go outside manufacturer recommendation, just throwing it out there that one brand/model may react better to a narrower wheel than others.

Good to know thanks, I love my 265 Wildpeaks, I will definitely be sticking with them if I go 295 or 305

Haha thanks. I had a beautiful black & grey Di2 Ultimate CF also. Both were ordered through friends in Germany. Unfortunately FedEx smashed the Ultimate while shipping it home after a trip to California. This picture is from one of my last rides on it. Destroyed.

OUCH that hurts! It's nice you can actually find US dealers now, we have one in Philly and there's one in NYC that I know of..if I ever upgrade from my carbon Specialized Tarmac i'll def be picking up one! Do you use the roofrack for a bike rack or have you tried the Seasucker mounts yet? I have a single bike rear window hanger for mine that works amazingly.

I have used the roof rack before, but I prefer a regular receiver mounted tray style rack. I haven't tried Seasucker yet. I love the idea of having a bike carried vertically on the back; just haven't been willing to pony up and buy one without having tried it first.

The new aero road bikes from Canyon are some of the best looking rides out there. I'd love to have one some day.
