30K Service Coming Up

Getting ready to take my 08 4Runner Urban Runner into get its 30K service done. I was looking at getting myself some DENSO Platinum TT Spark Plugs and doing that myself. I have heard from the tech from where I am taking my truck in to get the work done that normally would have the transfer case & transmission drained and replaced along with the coolant flush. Should i do a fuel injector cleaning as well?

Basically I want to do whats necessary for the car to keep it running smoothly but anything i can do myself to save a few $$$ would be great.

Also, anyone else place K&N Oil Filters on their car? Are they really worth it?

Swap the front, center, and rear diffs to M1 75w-90. I think I used around 8 quarts for everything. They'll be good for at least 60k. Don't touch the transmission until at least 60k. Toyota Super Long Life Coolant (Pink) is good for 100k.

Fuel injector cleaning is a waste of money.

Replace the plugs with genuine NGK or Denso plugs. The absolute best oil filter you can use is the OEM Denso Japanese one 90915-2004. They can be ordered by the case from Dan at American Toyota in NM. I also use the M1-209 filters.

Check engine and cabin filter. Call it a day.

I am not a mechanic, but I was able to complete all of the 30k factory recommended maintenance items on my '08 T4R V6 myself: new plugs (bought OEM from dealer), front & rear differential fluid, xfer case fluid, rotate tires, lube drive ("propeller") shaft, etc. Truth be known, I wouldn't have tried any of those things if not for the How-To write ups in this forum. I had to buy a couple of extra tools I didn't have (micro torque wrench, hex bit, a couple of socket wrenches of the right size), but nothing expensive. Sniff around the Maintenance forum. Terrific stuff there.
