33's on 1st gen.

Have a crazy question here! Does anyone know or have experience with mounting a set of 33x10.5 on stock rims for an 86' 4runner? I have no lift or mods on it and I currently am running 31's. It seems as if I have plenty of room to do it but you never know what you may run into when going that far from factory. The tires are AT's so they are not overly aggressive. I would greatly appreciate any input or experience in this. Although the 22re probably has barely enough to make these turn, it would be fun!! :bigok:

86' with 33's

Does anyone know whether 33's will fit on an 86' with no lift or mods? I have a set of 33x10.5 and I'd be mounting them on American Racing 15X8 rim. I currently have 31's and it seems as if I have plenty of room to try the 33's. Any experience in this would be greatly appreciated. :bluejump:

Thanks for the info. I don't want to destroy the vehicle, had these tires from an old Blazer and thought I might be able to put them to use.

get a 2" body lift theyre cheap and then you can run the 33's

I've got the 2" body lift, and running 32's.
I did have some rubbing on the back, outside part of the front fenderwells at full lock.
A little hammering took care of that.
I also had to turn up the torsion bars a bit to raise the front some more.

topdown4runner : that front bumper is really cool did you fab it yourself? Im not sure Ive ever seen one like it before?
Cheeersh guysh!

I run 33s np with a 4in bracket lift. A small body lift can make those fit, or even a stock height rig with the pinch weld hammered in.

Nope, found it on Craigslist.
It came on some guy's 4Runner and he did not like it. I paid $20 for it. It's worth more than that in just the aluminum. It cost me more than that in gas to drive the 2.5 hours to get it.

I have seen some of similar construction in pictures of trucks in Australia, so I would assume someone imported it.

I like the Aussie look of it, so I put an Australia license plate on the front, and an international AUS sticker and Aussie Locker stickers on the back. ( I do have the Aussie Locker too ) Sorry for the poor quality photo.
