33x9.5r15?

Hey guys!
New to the forum as I recently purchased a 94 sr5 4runner. I love this rig and have only had it a few days! It currently has 265/75/15 that are about 30 percent. I have found a set of 33x9.50r15 bfg ATS for a good deal and want to know if I'll have any problems with them fitting/ rubbing without modifying the rig? How do they look? Anyone have pictures?Are chains difficult to find for that size tire? Appreciate your input.
Also, was thinking about doing the add a leaf to the rear to level it out. Pros/ cons of this? How involved is that installation and what's that cost

Welcome to the forum!

The tires will fit, but you may need to trim (or hammer flat) the pinch weld on the front inner fenders. Chains are not hard to find for that size.

First, you cant add a leaf to a coil spring... Youll be looking at coil spacers. They will pick the back of your truck back up, but youll still have a crappy set of springs in there. Best thing to do is replace the springs completely. Take a look at the lift guide at the top of the section, it will give you a good idea on others have done.

Those are 10s in my avatar, I think they look great. And you'll enjoy the better mileage and reduced wear on your suspension too.
 
Ya those look great!!! Really don't want to do a lift I can get the tires in there without too much rubbing. I would like to pick up the back end with some spacers. Where is the best place to shop for some? Does anyone know of a thread that explains how to do this. I'm not an expert by any means but we all have to start somewhere. I'm still just jacked I own a four runner!
 
You could start at Toytec lifts. Also google "4runner coil spring spacer".

But we're not helping any longer until we get some pics of your ride. :mad:

Lol sorry Ive been meaning to put some up...just got her a few days ago for 1800..170k sr5 5 speed few dents but pretty nice condition overall..love this rig so far, looks great and will be a great huntin rig( notice my rifle of the hood) They even match! ha

I agree with the others, that needs new coils, spacers won't help. You can either get replacement springs or do the OME coil lift. I have a 2in lift, nothing crazy but it looks good. What you'd be looking at is similar to FOG's (FootOfGod) truck. If i remember right he has a 2in OME with 33x10.5's i BFG M/T i think. Should be in the sticky at the top of our forum though. check it out.
 
A 265 tire is about 10.5" wide so the 9.5 are one inch narrower.
You may be able to fit the 33s but when you chain up, you may have some real rubbing.
 
With that amount of rear end sag, 33's are going to rub big time no matter how narrow they are. You new to get 2-3" above stock height to fit them.
Check into Old Man Emu suspensions. The ride and handling is awesome.
 
Yup, with that much sag, you need new coils. Don't even think about spacers. The OME kit everyone is talking about will give you about 2" over stock and you will have no issue fitting 33's. You can get the kit all over the place. A simple google search will give you all the options. Check out:
