34s or 35s?

So. I recently got a bunch of money that I'm able to put to my rig and I'm now at the stage of tires. Currently, I run BFG K02s sized at 265/70/17. Not the biggest of tires. I am getting a BUNCH of work done early next week including front and rear Dobinsons springs, a Coastal Offroad bumper, a body mount chop, and a few other maintenance things.

I have decided to upgrade to some MT tires and I'm thinking about either BFG KM3s, Patagonia Milestars, or Nexen Roadian MTs. The question is: 34s or 35s? I really don't want to rub at full compression, but I also want maximum ground clearance. I'd really like to hear some of you all's opinions!

295/70R17 Milestaer Patagonias. Just do it.

Great "compromise" size for a daily imo. Very little work to make them fit.

I would just get 35's. In the end the same amount of work is needed, more or less, to fit them.

Only thing is if you wheel hard or even moderately you want to make sure you have the money to fix a broken rear differential. That's just the reality with our trucks. 33's are fine, 34s and 35s are pushing it with the stock rear end until you break it and beef it up with a solid pinion spacer and locker.

^^^^ what he said... I have been running 34's daily/wheeled for about 25k now.. and imo it feels like the limit.
I feel it's just on the threshold of the breaking limits of this diff, I do frequent, regular diff fluid changes and stay conscious of that tire size when wheeling but its always a concern and 35s would probably just be a ticking time bomb.

Otherwise with the v8 its moves them around just fine after proper trimming

Thank you all for the help!! I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger and I have 5 Cooper Evolution MTs (35s) on the way! Couldn’t be more excited.

I’m looking in to beefing up the rear so I don’t have as much of a concern of destroying it. I appreciate it!
