What motor? What transmission?

Odds are, it's going to be a dog with 35s no matter what you do, but 5.29s will make it less of a dog.
 
Do you like using 5 gear on the hi way? I had 35s on my 86 4.30 gears could not use 5th gear.
Could also not climb very large rocks killed it multiple times pulling out of creek bank.
 
You will want to re-gear. But it is possible just to "live with it" depending on the type of driving you do.
 
35s suck with stock gearing. It will be hard on your clutch. 5.29s are the way to go for sure. I love mine. Can do 70mph down the freeway no problem. :D
 
as has been said, you'll want to regear, and 5.29 is the way to go.

you don't HAVE to regear, ive known many people over the years that run up to 38's with stock gears... its not advised, and you'll be hating life....

with 5.29's, and 35's I can take off in 2nd...if I have to..because I forgot to downshift..

which, of course ive never done....
 
With 5.29s with 35s on my last truck, I could take off just by letting out the clutch, with no throttle input (and yes, that was BEFORE I put in my V8--just the 3.slow). Try that without the 5.29s, and you'll stall every time. Not only will they make it drive properly, your speedo and your gas mileage will stay nearly the same as stock, too. Definitely the route to go.
