3D Liners for 2013 don't fit 2014? WTF

Somebody look at this photo and tell me if I'm missing something. Did I get the wrong mats? Driver's side fit perfectly and lined up with the retention clips. Ordered these for a "2013+"

Here's what I got. No cutouts for the retention clips and this weird square bulge:



No mats, you can see the clips



Please tell me this isn't what they're supposed to look like. Because if so, this is a total crock for $150 "precision" floor mats.

Mine don't have the bulges. Mine are simply flat and "velcro" to the carpet. I removed the passenger clips. Driver side has them though.

Hmm that's odd. I wonder why yours is different. The square bulge is really weird. It's completely hollow underneath which means it will get crushed in no time. Every other crease and fold is precise for the other mats. Not sure what the heck they were thinking on this side.

Why "3D" brand?
Were those cheaper than Husky or Weathertech?

They don't look like they would protect your carpet as well.
I got Husky Liners and did not use/need retention clips. Didn't want to put holes in the Floor Liner that is supposed to keep stuff from getting to the carpet. They have spikes on the bottom that act as Velcro, so no need for extra clips. Been using this system for 16 years....no problems with the Liners moving out of place.

The material on these is leagues better than Husky or Weathertech. I would have gone with Weathertech, but didn't like the fitment issues some were having around the kickplate. These are perfect everywhere else except for this weird passenger side issue.

And rest assured these aren't gonna slide around. They hold firmly with the backing material they use. It's just the weird shapes is throwing me off.

I did yesterday, waiting on a reply. Regarding fitment, that's why I posted this thread to see if anybody else with a 2014 has ordered these. I PM'd another member with a 2014 and he said his look just like mine. So it seems as if this is 3D's idea of a perfect precise fit.

Seems like they took the easy and cheap way of dealing with the 2014 retention clips. I'd prefer the mat be completely flat and have to remove the clips than have these weird bulges.

Can't recommend these liners if this is in-fact how they're supposed to be.

Yeah, agree. Don't think I'd keep those ... I can't see the long term for those bumps being good.

Wonder if they can swap it for the older style like mine for just the passenger side. Totally flat and you just have to remove the clip. Seems strange they went to the lame bumps. Not a fan!

Yeah that's what I was thinking when you mentioned yours had no bulge. But which ones did you order, 2010-2012 or 2013+? We'll see what they say. Makes no sense. Round bulge to clear the clip on one side, and a giant square bulge on the other edge with empty space underneath. The listing does say this however:

The mats are held in place by both retainer holes that match the pegs on the foot well and by the MAXpider bottom.

I wonder if they were only referring to the driver side.

I was the other member he PM'd about this and yes, mine are exactly the same. It seemed weird to me when I put them in, but not all that big of a deal since I like the look and fit everywhere else. The design pattern is kind of similar to the dash board, so that ties them in nicely with the interior. I'm interested to see what they say about the reasoning behind the design though.

No idea. Can't remember... that was a few mods before I began documenting. I just didn't' like the stock "all weather" mats, especially since the second row didn't cover the hump, moved around and there was nothing for the third row seats (remember, I have a family that sometimes joins me for wheeling). Hope they will just swap that one and then you are good to go.
