Do those SPOD units just have two mounting studs on the back? If so, I should be able to adapt the design easily.

Yes, two mounting studs and a port for the CAT5 cable in the center. It's 2-7/8”H x 4-7/8”L x 1/2", and mounts to a flat surface

(I wish this site would do something about image size, the freakin' option is in the settings to automatically resize, I HATE side-scrolling)

Alright awesome. that's what I was seeing online. I'll see if it'll fit comfortably.

The image handling on here could definitely use some improvement. Any picture I take I have to manually downsize in Photoshop since Photobucket crapped the bed.
 
Add me to the interested list. Would be perfect timing - just mounted my front light bar, with more to come, and was just trying to figure out where to put switches...
 
As requested by [MENTION=67786]4RunAmok[/MENTION] , I designed a version that will be compatible with sPOD HD 8-button pads.

Switches should be here tomorrow, so I'll post a completed picture of the first print then.

First Test Print

Here is my first test print, complete with a couple of switches and mounted in the truck. As you can see, the angle is a little more aggressive than expected due to the downward slope of the roof-line. This causes it to block some visibility in the rear-view mirror.

I'm planning to update the model with about half as much angle of depression and I'll report back with the results.

looks great! I'm glad you're going to reduce the angle too. Now I know this thing isn't going to be necessarily cheap (The family still laughs that I spent $70 on a cupholder, but the difference it makes is all the worth it!), so with that, if the plastic you print it on can be close to the tan interior color we have, it'd be all the more worth the price.

Thanks! I put cost reduction high on my priority list with this design such that the parts will print efficiently. I'm hoping to offer it at around $40 shipped.

I'll also make an effort to find plastic that is interior colored, although there's so many variations of tan/beige out there that I'll have to ask around for some samples.

Looks good so far! I'm curious - would there still be enough room/depth for the back of the switches if you did a version that was basically 'flat' - ie, same plane as the surrounding trim? I'm just thinking that after a use or two, you're going to know which switch is which, and not need to always look at them anyway, and that would keep it out of your line of sight when looking in the rearview mirror. Don't know what everyone else thinks...

Either way, looking forward to ordering one when you put them into production! Oh, and add my vote for a tan colour if you can find it. :)
 
Second Test Print

Here's a quick look at my second test print. Made a few fitment and durability changes, as well as decreased the angle. I think the angle in this version is perfect as it just barely can be seen at the very top of the rear-view, yet it is angled enough such that the switches can be read by the occupants.

Should be getting very close to completion now!

Any progress? This looks like it could be a great option for these rigs. I've had a priapism since I saw this thread...
