If i was to get the Front springs from a FJ80 Landcruiser and install those in the rear of my 1999 t4r, what would the front need to have to have it lifted 3-3.5 inches as well? or would just those springs in the rear do it? would i have to do something to lift the front too? any info is appreciated. thanks

Yup they sell a top plate with the diameter of the tundra plate and the shared hole pattern of the tacoma and 3g 4runners. They run $58 and you need to call um to order b/c there not in the catalog.:fro:

I want to run 35's, whats the best lift that will give me enough clearance. i know ill need to trim the fenders. everyone runs 33s it seams like and i wont be wheeling it. mostly mud/sand .. idk its 3am and i want my 4runner to be big time :guitar2: lol

Mickey Thompson classic 2s
285x75x16 tires
My question is if I buy all of that what else will I need ?
A dif drop?
Something about a bumper and radiator extension?
Wheel spacers?
I am very new to this and just don't get any of it so if you guys can help me out with this it would be greatly appreciated to let me know everything I need for my 4runner thanks guys

I plan on doing some wheeling and I don't want to rub at all with 33s and yes it is a 4wd

As Ripcord mentioned, do you need 5" of lift? Typically to clear 285's a 1" body lift is good and a 2" is needed for 35's. You will need a diff drop if you are 4wd. Check out this website for some answers to the body lift requirements. 4Crawler Offroad - Custom Body Lift Kits

You won't need wheel spacers depending on the backspacing of the Mickey Thompsons. I believe they are 4" or 4.25" which are perfect and no spacers are needed. You should get a panhard bar drop or adjustable panhard bar. You should be good to go then.

What is a pan hard bar drop ? And Who do you suggest for a body lift ?

Hey guys I think Im going to pull the trigger and buy a lift in a few weeks for my 1996 4runner 4x4. I was going to go with the sonoran steel 1.2 alternate but decided to piece it together myself.

I want 3" front and 3.5" rear, I liked the raked look of the sonoran steel with the LC coils. So would this setup work good. I dont have extra weight but plan on bumpers and a winch later on.

Front:
2 OME 882 Heavy coils for over 150lBS additional front weight. (or should I go softer)
2 OME N 90004 front shocks (New sport shocks)

Rear:
2 OME 861 Heavy Duty LandCruiser Front FJZ80 Coils
Tokico Trekmaster GE4095 LandCruiser FJZ80 Shocks

Diff Drop
Longer rear brake line

Is this what I should be getting? I thing I got it right. What else will I need for the lift, what am I missing? Will it ride ok on stock bumpers till I get them? Thanks for all the info you give, I really appreciate it.

I've been looking at upgrading my current front set-up and i'm heavily considering the Tundra yy/yb front coil over set-up. I was looking in the classified section here and then I wondered over to yota-tech. While there I found this page.

I realize it has not been updated since 2-26-2007, but if you read down the OP specifically says not to get the yy/yb. He says the get the r/b. I didn't read all 33 pages of this thread but no one immediately shot him down.

I can't seem to get my hands on a set of yy/yb, I have found a few r/b. If I use the r/b and my current daystar top spacer will it give me the same lift height? I'm not looking for a different lift height, just a better ride quality. I dont like the ride of the pre-loaded spacer lift.

From what I have read, the r/b come from a double cab, which is heavier than a standard/ext cab. Therefore they are a little bit stiffer. This is where it gets confusing for me, as I've seen people run both. I'm looking for the exact same thing, an my brain hurts every time I read a new thread about this type of lift. I think either one will be better than a spacer lift though. Hopefully someone more knowledgable will answer the question better.

Can you copy and paste where it says about the r/b coils? He has the part numbers for the yy/yb in the beginning of the thread. The reason to go with the tad's is due to them being a progressive coil. A DC TRD coil would work but might be stiffer. I haven't found anodyne who's ran those coils though.
