What's the cheapest method to sound deaden and insulate at the same time?

I would have taken a video, but the device I'd shoot video with would be my iPhone.
Ignore the average, or the section on the right. Every time I went to take a screenshot, the decibels would jump since my fingers would hit the mic.

Going 75mph, I was averaging around 70 decibels.
I'll have to check it at 60, but don't think there's much change.

Using an app on your phone, what does it read going 75?

Just to add info, my 3rd gen at 75mph reads 73 decibels with the phone held between the front head rests. So, you literally halved the total free sound energy in the cabin!

My wife's 5th gen was about 69 on the highway, but now 70ish as her old tires are getting louder.

I plan on sound deadening my 3rd and first gen just the way you did. I want to take my carpet out of both of them as well because I have a dog and it gets dirty way too fast.

-strip down to bare metal
-apply noico butyl 80 mil as sound dampener
-apply noico 140 mil closed cell foam as additional dampening/decoupler
-spray on adhesive with mass loaded vinyl for true soundproofing

I was thinking of spraying the herculiner spray on bed liner ON TOP of the mass loaded vinyl. I am not trying to use the bedlienr for sound dampening, I just want the top layer to be durable and grippy. Would this work? Does anyone know?

So you are permanently removing the carpet to replace with bed liner? I don't think the vinyl will want to stay in one place and you might find it sliding around and bending, and then your bedliner might start to come off. Bare metal at the bottom is not flat or even, it's full of holes, welded nuts and all sorts of things.

the vinyl should stay if I spray adhesive on the bottom side of it as it will stick to the butyl (which will stick to the bare metal).

the goal here is to take out all the carpet, and also install sound deadening. I'm essentially looking for a carpet replacement, but did not wanna go the weathertec route and was just wondering if anyone has tried spraying the bedliner ONTO the vinyl.
