thinking of picking this up and parting it out. how much do you guys think I could roughly get out of parting this thing? or is it a waste of time and money?

Disclaimer: I have never parted a 4runner so I am clueless to this.

I bought a running & driving 99 4runner with almost 200k miles and a rusted frame for $1000 little over a year ago. I listed it on ebay the same day with many pics of the rusted frame and a honest descripition with a $2200 buy it now and it sold just 7 minutes after i listed it. It was purchased by a russian guy for export to Nigeria. Buy it and flip it.

With you being in Canada that limits your parting market. Shipping/importing into US may kill a lot of deals.

$860 still pretty cheap tho.

Here in the US, we can part out as much as we can, and then donate the completely not working car, and still take $500 deductible; so, in that sense, it is worth it.

It would be a good summer project for a kid/teenager tho, for them to play around with ebay, and e-commerce. Now, you do need to have a place to store the truck and take it apart.

I'd buy that at that price to part out since you live in/near Vancouver. There are enough 4Runners between Vancouver and Calgary/Edmonton that you'd make your money back with little shipping expense, I'm willing to guess.
