3rd gen almost died

I think i know whats up with the abs. The abs module is in the passenger kick panel. It is as low or lower than the front speakers. If that got wet, and had power to it, or an abs signal i could see it frying the system. You could check the fuse. its a 60A. I sunk my 4runner and it got wet, but it was fine. I just could see it frying

Yeah its in the main fuse block in the engine compartment. Its yellow and its next to the alternator 100A fuse. These fuses have a clear top so you dont have pull it to see if it is blown, If indeed it is blown you have to unbolt the fuse. Its kind of a PITA but the fuse is held in with two (8mm i think ) bolts. You have to unbolt the fuse block to get acess to them....

There may also be another abs related fuse in the cab under the pul out panel under the steering wheel. Im not sure, but you should check these fuses as well.

you may think of putting the abs on a switch. I did. It was a wasted project since i leave it off 100% of the time, but it was cool when it was my DD

I'm pretty sure that your not to concerned with getting this ABS working again since it sucks but for the record, I'd go for the module since my fuse didn't blow. But I wouldn't dump money into an already faulty system.

To me the worst part of a SUCCESFUL mudding trip is the engine bay clean up.. Haha
