2001 4Runner (low miles - 164k)

This is a daily driver for me and everything works.
3" Rough Country suspension lift
Flat black 16' ProComp rims
LT285/75R16 NITTO Terra Grappler tires - bought NEW in March
4 wheel drive works great
4 - 4" Hella clear lights mounted on chrome bull bar

This truck is clean, runs perfectly, has been serviced religiously and there is not another one like it.

When was the last major service done? Timing belt, water pump, radiator, etc.

The timing belt was done in 2010. Water pump/radiator?? I'm not sure on that - may have been done before but not in last 2 years.

If by "serviced religiously" you mean the oil was changed, that's great and all, but the water pump is kind of an important component, usually changed with the timing belt. You're going to get questions about this until you can back up the "serviced religiously" comment and provide specifics.

Is this an SR5, LTD, or standard? Is it manual or automatic? Do you have more pictures of the interior? Do all 4Runners have a tow hitch....or does yours?

This is a SR5 with sport package. It is an automatic and does not have a tow hitch mounted currently. I have the running boards still on hand as well if you wanted to put those back on. I'll try to post some interior pics also

Ok. So, I will not claim that I have the 4Runner technical manual memorized or that I am an expert in the field of all things Toyota... I also understand there are people out there who choose to replace parts for absolutely no reason.

So, for Nashvegas34, I come from the other universe - where you take good care of your vehicle, drive it and replace components.... if and when they FAIL. So, I stand by the comments in my posting. I am not aware of the water pump being replaced, since it has not needed it as long as I've owned it.

This Runner is in great shape, needs nothing, and has been cared for very well since it rolled off the line.

Not to clutter your thread but people replace parts so they don't fail while you drive. Such as LBJ (major to totaled damage) Waterpump (overheat) Radiator (overheat or pink milkshake) If any of those fail while you are driving and don't notice until its too late

I am more than positive it will help you market your 4runner for your asking price if you know what preventive maintenance has been done, to assure the next owner is making a good buy

Not meaning to heap coal on the fire, but those making comments are correct, and it's a good lesson to learn for your future vehicles--many things should be replaced on a scheduled basis, not just when they break, so you can PREVENT them from breaking and stranding you. I'm sure your truck is in excellent condition, but this is a valid point. Oh, and yes, the water pump is usually replaced when a timing belt is done, because it's right behind the belt, so why do the labor twice for a relatively inexpensive part? Just some good advice, friend.
