inside the door cavity, with double sided wether stripping tape. I'm probably going to move them when I put my new speakers in though...
So not in between the door and the door molding but inside where the glass is?
I tried in between the door and the door molding but I think the x-over is too thick with the cover on. It "works" but the molding doesn't snap back into the door like it should and juts out towards the hinge. On the passenger side I decided to run the wires into the cabin and put the x-over into the holder next to the speaker until I find a better space. Only reason I had to do this was I already had cut out the tweeter hole in the stock locations before I knew the fitment of the x-over would be an issue.

Honestly, wherever you can get them to fit is a good place in my book. It's not like an amp where you might need constant access all the time.

I agonized about this very thing when I decided to install my current system. 4 crossovers, 2 on each side of the rear passenger seats under the carpet. Affixed with velcro. It's otherwise unuseable space. In my 3rd Gen, the carpet just bulges out a bit but still tucks under the door sill. You'd never know they were there. Also, I'm not using any of the factory wiring.
