Finally picked up a T4R! She's a 2002 Thundercloud Grey Metallic 4wd Limited edition. I don't have pictures yet but plan to take some after I detail it. I'm going to have a maintenance day when all the parts come in. I bought:
OEM valve covers
OEM spark plug covers for when I replace the valve covers
OEM fuel filter
Koyo Radiator
B&M cooler
New plugs and wires
I've already changed the oil and am going to do the ATF and diff fluid within the next month or so
There are a few issues/questions I have to fix some of the minor things wrong with the car:
1) The drive side door lock doesn't work. The car didn't come with a key fob for an alarm system. The previous owner said the stereo guy that put the head unit into the car disabled the factory system (?) even though the security light blinks red when I get in the car. Anyways, when I use the power door lock button, the driver side door lock doesn't do anything. Also, when I try to unlock the car from the outside of the rig using the driver side exterior door lock, I can't turn the key to the left; is this normal? I can turn the key both ways using the passenger side exterior door lock. The only way I can unlock the driver side, besides pulling it up by hand, is using the exterior door lock on the driver side and turning the key to the right.
2) something happened yesterday as well: I went to turn my rig on and when I turned to start the car nothing happened. No noise no lights...nothing. I tried it agin a few more times and it finally turned on.
-Edit: This happened again today so I popped the hood and all battery cables were loose. I tightened them down and it started right up.
Could these issues be my key?
