Purchased myself a new garmin recently, and I have always disliked every kind of mount on the market, so I figured I needed to put one in a location I truly liked.
Picked up this Garmin. My Garmin rep talked me into this new one.

Pilot holes
hardware used to secure the bracket. Flange nut for the back of the screws going into the dash trim, rubber well nut for support on the other side. had them around the garage but can be obtained from any hardware store.

Garmin Ball attached
Garmin magnetic mount.The power cable actually plugs into this part of the mount, and the garmin unit itself just stays in place with powerful magnet. The cable is routed underneath, where I installed an extra power outlet behind the dash. no exposed cables since it will always stay in the 4runner.
Garmin mounted!
Steering wheel blocks it a tad more than I would like, but aside from that, this is exactly where I wanted it. my taller friends would not be able to sit in the passenger seat with any of the garmin dash mounts on the market for 3rd gens.
Looking into buying a second car, so I will probably buy a second garmin magnetic mount to hard wire in there as well making it much easier to transfer it back and forth.
